Crafted by Women. Rooted in the Earth. We are a proud woman-led business since 2013.

Supporting women-owned wineries and celebrating the contributions of female winemakers can help foster a more inclusive and diverse wine community. Behind every pour is a story—here are the storytellers.

female winemaker, draft-horse farming pioneer

Betsey Wittick

Grape grower, Wine Maker, teacher

Betsey holds a Masters degree in Horticulture from Cornell University, and began growing grapes and making wine with the Bentryns in 1989. She utilizes draft horses as part of our whole systems approach in the vineyard. As winemaker and viticulturalist at Bainbridge Vineyards, and as proprietor of small-scale vegetable operation Laughing Crow Farm, Betsey is committed to seeing local food production remain a viable livelihood and important asset to our community.

Stephanie Von Tacky

Co-Owner

Stephanie is our matriarch and in house French speaker! She has studied abroad in France, owned a cheese shop in California, and is a long time Bainbridge community member. She is one of the chefs from the beginnings of the Streamliner Diner. A woman who loves the earth, you can occasionally find her in the vineyard or the tasting room!

Gretchen + Sarah

vineyard leads

Sarah and Gretchen are the go-to team for all things vineyard-related. Besides working on the farm, you can meet Sarah in our tasting room (usually on Fridays) or at the Poulsbo Farmer’s Market during the season. Gretchen also keeps busy as our farm’s volunteer coordinator extraordinaire.

Jordan Briggs

Tasting Room Manager

Originally from Bainbridge Island, Jordan brings years of customer service management experience and a genuine love for connecting with people. Jordan is committed to making every guest feel welcome and ensuring everyone has a great experience. When not at work, you’ll likely find her chasing around her toddler.

Jill

Tasting room Crew

Jill was born and raised in Poulsbo, and after years of living in Seattle and on the East Coast, moved back to Kitsap in 2020. Jill is passionate about sustainability and community building, which is what led her to working at BV. Jill’s favorite thing about working in the tasting room is getting to connect with people and hear their stories while they enjoy the winery.

Jordan

Tasting room crew

Jordan is originally from Yakima, and has been in the Seattle area since 2013. She got hired at a tasting room in Woodinville in 2016 and has been in the wine industry doing a variety of roles since. Another passion of hers is rescue/animal welfare. She is a part of the team at the local animal shelter and works in adoptions!

Our Supporters

We could not be more thankful for the community of long time supporters we have at our farm. Much of our success comes from our hard-working seasonal employees, interns, and friends of the vineyard. Notable people include Polly Longworth, Megan Gordinier, Mike Fitzgerald, Cristina McGinnis Widman and Sara Bean.
