Spring Compost Spreading
The grapes have all been pruned and the shoots have been tied down to the lowest trellis wire in anticipation of the growing season to begin. Betsey and Liz have been working this week to spread a nice layer of compost throughout the vineyard to make the soil nice and rich for those grape vines. We think this picture is the perfect mix of new and old. Liz loads the compost with the tractor into the horse drawn spreader. Just an example of how at Bainbridge Vineyards, we practice age old methods to care for our organic grape vines to ensure the best possible wine. Who says it's uncool to be old fashioned!?!?
